AN OPEN LETTER TO ALL MOTORCYCLE USERS

AN OPEN LETTER TO ALL MOTORCYCLE USERS

I'll be writing in Filipino because today, February 25, 2013, is the 27th year anniversary of the Edsa Revolution Day.

Be safe everyone.

NOEL CABANGON: Ako'y Isang Mabuting Pilipino Book Launching

NOEL CABANGON: Ako'y Isang Mabuting Pilipino Book Launching
The song that left a mark on everybody's heart is now a book. I am one of the lucky Filipinos to be invited at yesterday's book launching of "Ako'y isang Mabuting Pilipino" by Noel Cabangon.

In the past, I had witnessed several of his live performances. I am proud to tell everyone that I really idolize Sir Noel Cabangon. Not only because Noel Cabangon is an excellent songwriter/composer and singer but also because he is a good Filipino.
If you have not heard this song before, then let me share the video and the lyrics of the song to you now. Enjoy!

Ako'y isang Mabuting Pilipino
by Noel Cabangon

Ako’y isang mabuting Pilipino
Minamahal ko ang bayan ko
Tinutupad ko ang aking mga tungkulin
Sinusunod ko ang kanyang mga alituntunin

Tumatawid ako sa tamang tawiran
Sumasakay ako sa tamang sakayan
Pumipila at ‘di nakikipag-unahan

[chorus]

‘pagkat ako’y isang mabuting Pilipino
Minamahal ko ang bayan ko
Tinutupad ko ang aking mga tungkulin
Sinusunod ko ang kanyang mga alituntunin

‘Di ako nagongotong o nagbibigay ng lagay
Ticket lamang ang tinatanggap kong ibinibigay
Ako’y nakatayo doon mismo sa kanto
At ‘di nagtatago sa ilalim ng puno

‘Di ako nagkakalat ng basura sa lansangan
‘Di bumubuga ng usok ang aking sasakyan
Inaayos ko ang mga kalat sa basurahan
Inaalagaan ko ang ating kapaligiran

[repeat chorus]

Lagi akong nakikinig sa aking mga magulang
Kaya’t pag-aaral ay aking pinagbubutihan
‘di ako gumagamit ng bawal na gamot
O kaya’y tumatambay at sa eskwela’y ‘di pumapasok

Ipinagtatanggol ko ang aking karangalan
‘pagkat ito lamang ang tangi kong kayamanan
‘di ko ibinebenta ang aking kinabukasan
Ang boto ko’y aking pinahahalagahan

[repeat chorus]

Ako’y isang tapat at totoong lingkod ng bayan
Pabor o lagay ay ‘di ko pinapayagan
Tapat ang serbisyo ko sa mamamayan
‘Di ko ibinubulsa ang pera ng bayan

Ipinagtatanggol ko ang mamamayang Pilipino
Mga karapatan nila’y kinikilala ko
Iginagalang ko ang aking kapwa tao
Ipinaglalaban ko ang dangal ng bayan ko.

[repeat chorus twice]

Pagkat ako’y isang mabuting Pilipino
Pagkat ako’y isang mabuting Pilipino
Pagkat ako’y isang mabuting Pilipino

"Ako'y isang Mabuting Pilipino" book by Noel Cabangon is available at all branches of National Bookstore Nationwide for only Php 69.95. Super mura. Go, bili na! Napakainam na pangregalo lalo na sa mga bata. The book will help inculcate good values in our children.

YOSHINOYA: Gyudon Eating Contest Grand Winners

YOSHINOYA: Gyudon Eating Contest Grand Winners
All challengers were given fifteen (15) minutes to dig in and stuff themselves with the world’s best-selling Gyudon(beef) from Yoshinoya. Everybody had a hard time chomping down the heavy rice meal topped with thin slices of sumptuous beef. Some challengers are on the verge of tears as they tried to outdo one another. Our fellow blogger, Florencio Jusay Jr., grand winner of the media challenge, shared that on his third bowl, he was already crying. The grand winner eat the Gyudon while standing up. He remained standing even after the contest but I admire all of them because the challengers fought until the end as they flipped one bowl after another as many and as fast as they could. The top three finalists with the most number of bowls consumed and the least weight of leftovers after the allotted time were declared winners at the Yoshinoya Gyudon Eating Challenge today, February 23, 2013. The Yoshinoya Gyudon Eating Challenge is now on its fourth year.
The Grand Winner of the exciting Yoshinoya Gyudon Eating Contest won for himself the grand prize of Php 100,000 pesos, beating 28 other contestants at the New Glorietta Activity Center in Makati, Philippines. He consumed eight ( 8 ) bowls of Yoshinoya Beef Gyudon.
Second prize winner is Justin Cardano. He won Php 50,000 pesos. I told him that I remember him from Chef Noodles Ddukbokki (ė–”ė³¶ģ“) Eating Challenge where he emerged as last year's grand winner.

The third prize winner got Php 25,000 pesos.
Our fellow blogger, Florencio Jusay Jr. or FPJ as we fondly call him, won Php 30,000 pesos for beating Romel Balbin of UNTV, DJ Totoy Bato of Yes FM, and Rusty Roman of Dyaryo Ngayon at the Gyudon Eating Contest for Media. FPJ's record is a total of 6 bowls which he finished in 15 minutes :)

Congratulations everyone! Don't sleep yet, try to walk first! (Jalan Jalan).
At the weekly qualifying rounds which happened last January 21 to February 15, 2013, the participants only had 5 minutes to finish the most number of Gyudon. They tripled the time during the finals and got a record-breaking 8 bowls. Each of the non-winning participants was given a consolation prize of P2,000 worth of Yoshinoya gift certificate.

VIGEN SCALP CLINIC: Provides Solution to Hair Loss and Scalp Problem

VIGEN SCALP CLINIC: Provides Solution to Hair Loss and Scalp Problem

Do you have a healthy hair and scalp? Many people have hair or scalp problems. Hair may thin or fall out, break off, or grow slowly. Dandruff or an itching or peeling scalp may cause embarrassment and discomfort. Hair and scalp problems can be upsetting, My dermatologist told me many years ago that I have a sensitive scalp. So, when I was invited to try the services being provided by Vigen Scalp Clinic located at the ground floor of Richbelt Terraces along Annapolis Street in Greenhills, San Juan,  I immediately grabbed the opportunity to learn more about having a healthy hair and scalp at Vigen Scalp Clinic.
Vigen Scalp Clinic has spacious hallways.  Each client is assigned a cubicle that ensures his or her privacy. Upon arrival, I was ushered to a consultation room where I was asked to sit down and fill up a form.
Then the therapist began a scalp assessment using a special microscopic camera which magnifies my scalp and hair several times. The magnified images can be viewed in an in-room LED monitor.

The therapist said that I have an oily scalp and damaged hair. I noticed there’s a transparent substance on my scalp and my scalp are reddish. I got scared! I wanted to freak out.
I asked the therapist what does the white substances on my scalp represent. She told me that those are thin films of chemicals and debris left by pollution, shampoos and conditioners as well as the result of the use and abuse of hair products that accumulated through the years on my scalp.
A reddish scalp means it is inflamed. Scary! That’s the culprit why people experience itchiness and irritation. Yeah, just like you, I was told by my hairdresser in the past to switch from one brand of shampoo to another every other month. But that didn't solve the problem, because all along, all I did pala is switch from one brand of shampoo full of harsh chemicals to another. The buildup blocked my pores and as a result, affected the growth of my hair. According to the therapist, each pore should have more than 2 hair growths. Sadly, I have either one or two only. It was so scary! That means I am in the beginning stage of getting bald! Oh no! I can't imagine it!  While my scalp and hair were projected on the screen, the therapist explains everything to me in a mild manner. I was really concerned. Her analysis scared the heck outta me. Analysis Result: Not only do I have an unhealthy and inflamed scalp but I am also in the beginning stage of hair loss. Having a "buhaghag" hair all my life, hair loss is the last word that will cross your mind if you were asked to describe my hair. Imagine my surprise when I was diagnosed to be in the beginning stage of hair loss.

Hair loss, including thinning and breaking, is the most common scalp problem. Most people lose from 50 to 100 hairs per day. Hair gradually thins as people age, although not all people are affected to the same degree. Hereditary thinning or balding is the most common cause of thinning hair. You can inherit this from either your mother's or father's side of the family. Women with this trait develop thinning hair, while men may become completely bald. The condition can start in the teens, 20s, or 30s.

I can't imagine a bald me. Both of my parents don't have any bald members in their family so that means I can't blame it on my genes.

Then who is to blame? The answer? All the harsh chemicals on the shampoo and conditioner that I am using plus other hair products such as hair color, styling gel, mousse and hair wax leave deposits on the scalp that prevent pores from breathing well. Plus, I was told that my daily activities leave perspiration on the scalp, which, if not cleansed off at the end of the day, could inflame the skin on the head. That statement of the Vigen consultant made me sad. I love my shampoo and conditioner.  I've been using those products alternately since I was a little girl :-(

Good thing, all hope is not lost!  Apparently, there is a way for me to regain my crowning glory according to the one who conducted my hair and scalp analysis because Vigen Scalp Clinic offers a variety of treatments to safely bring back the vitality and health of my hair and scalp. Vigen Scalp Clinic specializes in making the hair and scalp healthy and they even offer treatments to stimulate hair growth. Vigen Scalp Clinic can safely cleanse any scalp without the use of harsh chemicals. After the consultation, I got a chance to try their treatment.
First, the therapist asked me to wear socks and she then asked me to wear a boots-cuffs which is a four-tired rippling air pressure massager as shown in the pictures, it gives pressure to the vein, thus promoting the circulation of blood and body fluids.

Vigen Scalp Clinic sells a brand new boots massager that is made in Korea for only Php 14,995.00. Hmmm, not bad...
While waiting for my therapist to prepare what she needed to revitalize my hair, click click muna :-)

Then the treatment have begun.

My treatment is a 14-step process that lasted for about an hour. If I remember it right my treatment is called basic Scalp Healing Care Program. The program includes the following:
  • Intensive scalp scaling
  • Patented ION deep cleansing
  • Application of a scalp healing and regenerating solution
  • Infrared scalp therapy
  • Water Acupuncture
  • Hair Growth Treatment
  • pressurized massage
  • aromatherapy
  • hot shoulder compress
  • Galvanic Ion
Did I tell you I was having a headache when I arrived there? Miracle or not, by the end of the treatment my headache was gone.
I had a treatment that involved the application of imported specialized treatments in small bottles that treat inflamed scalp. There is a different program for those needing preventive treatment for hair loss, and another one that promotes hair growth with the application of imported specialized treatment that encourages hair growth.

Vigen Scalp Clinic has the right treatment to soothe itchy irritated scalp.
Aside from the scalp cleaning and treatment, I also got a pressurized leg massage, aromatherapy, a hot shoulder compress plus a bubble spa.

I so love the relaxation component which is a part of the entire scalp care program.  After the treatment I feel relaxed, as if I just came out of a spa. I would say that Vigen Scalp Clinic offers a holistic approach to scalp treatment. I am glad that I didn’t pass up this opportunity. Not only am I now more knowledgeable about my scalp and hair condition but I am now also aware that I can have treatments to have a healthy scalp and hair. I will definitely go back to Vigen Scalp Clinic one of these days. They have a promo of ten plus one session for only Php 3,000 plus, so I am thinking of availing that promo.

Vigen Scalp Clinic also offer Scalp Helmet Treatment to stimulate hair growth for only Php 3,500 per session. Not every head of hair has the same concerns. Act now and consult the therapist at Vigen Scalp Clinic. Everyone can have a healthy hair and scalp at Vigen Scalp Clinic. The Vigen Scalp Clinic uses equipment specially imported from Korea, which is not available locally in other salons or clinics. They also offer organic shampoos and conditioners, and hair growth formulas that you can use on a daily basis.

Vigen Scalp Clinic is located at G/F, Richbelt Terraces, 19 Annapolis St., Greenhills, San Juan (beside Foot Zone & Maging Sing). The Scalp Check hotline are 0917-86-SCALP (72257) and (02) 217-9045.
