BAR DOLCI: Life is Sweet

BAR DOLCI: Life is Sweet.

One rainy afternoon we drove all the way from our house in far away Q. C. to Bar Dolci in Burgos Circle at The Fort, Taguig. I'm giddy with excitement because I read somewhere that Bar Dolci serves the best Gelato and French Macarons in the Philippines.
I was so mesmerized by the taste of their espresso! I love the creaminess and the vanilla yogurt on top of my coffee. You ought to try this! Drool!
The salted caramel macarons are sooooo delicious! Hangsaraaap! It is chewy, crispy meringue flavored with sweet caramel with a bursts of salt. This pretty macarons is simply the best in the market today! The next time around that you are in Burgos Circle, don't miss the salted caramel macarons. They're to die for!
These are the peanut butter flavored macarons, they are light and delicious according to my friend. Yes, I'll be honest I wasn't able to taste these. It is a good thing I was able to take pictures of these macarons.

I love their quiche! Especially the Spinach and Bacon Provolone, Tomato Basil with Mozzarella Cheese and Quiche Lorraine. Quiche Lorraine is my favorite! It consists of bacon, onion and gruyer cheese. But I don't like the quiche with blue cheese, Roquefort Broccoli. Sorry, it is so strong for my taste bud. I think it is an acquired taste for moneyed people. This is my friend's favorite. She said she and her family always buy molded cheese from Santi's.

Quiche is a French word. Quiche /ˈkiːʃ/ KEESH is a savory, open-faced pastry crust dish with a filling of savory custard with cheese, meat or vegetables. There are many variants of quiche,'coz there's also a  wide variety of ingredients available that can be incorporated to this pastry. Quiche Variants are named descriptively in French, like the following: quiche au fromage (quiche with cheese) and quiche aux champignons (quiche with mushrooms) or conventionally florentine (spinach); provençale (tomatoes) and so on.
This ice cream burger reminds me of what we used to eat as a child, pandesal ice cream sandwich. This time around though at Bar Dolci, they call this Gelato Burger.

I was able to taste the burger with Ferrero Gelato filling and it did not disappoint. I love it! Yum yum! My only complaint is that the bread is mabuhaghag, but I bet the management will  improve this, after all they always listen to suggestions and customer feedback. I super love this!
This is Bar Dulci's Turkey & Brie with cranberry chutney sandwich. The ingredients went well together. Yummy! A must try!

Honeyed Porkloine with gauda cheese and apple. This sandwich tastes just right.
Strawberry Ricotta Bruschetta is so yummy. I want more! Ha ha ha!

Freshly made Mango Yogurt Sorbet (Gelato). It's ice cream, really, really good ice cream. Creamy and not too sweet not salty. Next time I'll try the Pistachio flavored Gelato. I heard they're so good and yummy! Awww! Tulo laway na ako! Ha ha ha!
Bar Dolci has more than eighteen different flavors of Gelato available at one time. Ranging from the basic strawberry to the more complex flavors like Salted Caramel Gelato, Pistachio, Ferrero, Thai Tea, White Chocolate Wasabi, Walnut and Dark Chocolate.
When you visit and buy a cup, tell the server to write your name on the board. Every time you visit and buy a cup, ask them to mark your name and when you reach ten (10) you'll get a cup for free. Bar Dolci is such a happy place to be!
These Gelatos are available for take out! Bar Dolci are generous with their servings, they fill the cup right to the brim so it's certainly worth the money. And they come up with two (2) new flavors every month.
Date Night at Bar Dolci every Monday night from 6pm to 10pm! Enjoy our BUY ONE TAKE ONE Gelato with some candlelight and great atmosphere!

Bar Dolci has Ladies night every Wednesday from 7pm to 10pm! Ladies get a FREE Bar Dolci Salted Caramel Macaron with every purchase of a cup/popsicle of Gelato!
The facade looks cool. And I love their signage. Thanks to Mae Ilagan for giving your slot to us! I've never meet you in person yet, but you're really nice to me and I thank God for your good heart. Hugz!

Thank you very much for the wonderful welcome, Mr. Full of Talents Nicholai David Go! I love your photos! Well done! You deserve a pat on the back, your parents must be very proud of you!

AZKALS Future: The Search For The New Teen AZKALS Is On

The Search for the New Teen AZKALS is On! AZKALS Future depends on the youth of today because they represent the future of our tomorrow.
Do you want to be the next goalkeeper like Neil Etheridge or team captain, Chieffy Caligdong or the Younghusband’s brothers, James and Phil? If you want to emulate and grow up to be the next great football player someday, then this is your chance!

The New Teen Azkals search will start this coming July and August 2012.

Schedule will be:
July 7-8, 2012, NCR selection will be conducted at the University of the Philippines, Diliman.

August 4-12, 2012, the Under 17-19 (U17-19) selection will be held in San Carlos City, Negros Occidental at the Football Grounds.
At Cafe Lupe, last night, guess who the social media bloggers have met in person.

Here are some clues:
  • He is the man behind MacGraphics Carranz, the pioneer in billboard advertisement in the country
  • He happens to be the team manager of Teen Azkals U17-U19 also.
Yes, he is none other than, the ever humble and always smiling Mr. Alvin Carranza. His business spawned into different ventures, to name a few, like the premier venue for live entertainment, CAFE LUPE and the KTV &Sports Bar/ Lounge, OneA Events Place, an outdoor dining overlooking Metro Manila.
Alvin Carranza's contribution and role in honing the Teen Azkals is vital for these kids to become the future Azkals. With many years of experience in the management field on his sleeves, the Teen Azkals are assured that they are in good hands under the wings of TM Alvin Carranza, coach Caslib, and the whole management team.
National Team development in any country is always based on the strength of grassroots and National Youth Teams. Supporting our age group teams will help us keep the momentum forward according to Teen Azkals U17-U19 Team Manager Alvin Carranza.

He further stated that the Philippines need sports university, clubs, sports academies and sports scholarship so top and budding athletes can receive the intense and sustained training they need to prepare well for international competitions.

We, Filipinos, need to sustain the surge of Philippine Football. As we all know, the Men's National Team has been constantly winning in the last three years. Their latest achievement is winning third place in the Asian Football Confederation Challenge Cup in Nepal.

The combination of the good management of Dan Palami, efficient coaching of Michael Weiss, continuing advocacy and faith to the whole group of the team manager Alvin Carranza U17-19 and the players they have scouted all over the world manifest the formula for us to move further and make football the game for Filipinos.
Philippine Football Federation Technical Coach Director Jose Ariston "Aris" Caslib talk to the social media bloggers last night about the welfare and future of the Teen Azkals and the team management’s continuous support by scouting future Azkals of the country.

They envision at least three groups of Teen Azkals - one each for
  • Luzon
  • Visayas
  • and Mindanao
This three groups will comprise a pool of talents that the Philippine Football Federation (PFF) can select from, for intensive training and foreign competitions.

According to coach Caslib, there are certain criteria that the management are looking for the future Teen Azkals and the most important thing that a player must embody are the following:
  • the physique and motor ability
  • must be fast
  • tall
  • has the drive to win
  • has decision making capability.
He further stated that sustaining the success of the Azkals needs a lot of layers of responsibility and tasks.

It all boils down to the grassroots level, quality grassroots experts are needed in all the 33 provincial football associations to ensure the football activities are continuous with combinations of
  • training
  • competitions
  • and festivals for the kids.
At the same time, grassroots experts must be trained by experts not only from our country but AFC and the International Football Federation (FIFA).

Then he said that Coaches' development must also be sustained.

He discussed with the social media bloggers that just last year, the first batch of Filipinos took the AFC A-license level training and resulted to 7 potential new A-licensed coaches in the country. And one of them is a Filipina, who is the first one to pass, ahead of the Filipino Coaches on her batch.

According to Richard "Ebong" Joson head of the Fan Management Committee of the Philippine Football Federation (PFF) the Secretary-general Atty. Rolando Tulay said that "Continuing education is needed for coaches as quality coaches produce quality players, and quality players will give honor in the Philippines."

Club level and age group competitions are needed, both for girls and boys and men and women. These competitions will help us identify talent for future national youth teams.

And finally, the development of national youth teams in the country is important. This key component has been highlighted by PFF President Mariano V. Araneta in his program.
International School Coach
Coach Cleng Cacacho of International School believes in starting them young. He also said that for us to sustain the success, national youth teams must be developed further and exposed to competitions domestically and internationally. Partnerships with people who believe in the game is an important ingredient of the program. Elite coaches must be further developed by assessment and continuing education.

"Should I coach girls differently than boys?" That is a question often heard in the private conversations between coaches. So Coach Cleng Cacacho shared his coaching approach. He said he has two different coaching methods. One for the much emotional girls and another to the more hard-headed boys.

The Teen Azkals can go a long way if they'll be given the proper support. It is good thing to know that the Philippine Football Federation (PFF) has channeled some of their budgets for the further development of the teen AZKALS players, since these kids are the future of Philippine Football.

There is a call for every Filipino to do well in giving the Teen Azkals the necessary support in trainings, coaching, covered stadium, clubs and sports gear.

Given all these, I bet the Philippine football will reap the rewards in the future. If properly trained, this may be the team to propel us to World Cup.

Let us all support the Philippine Azkals, and the future of Philippine football, the Teen Azkals.

Pwede kitang Idikdik Pababa- Iwa Moto on Jodi Sta. Maria

After being painted as a "homewrecker," an indignant Iwa Moto has turned the tables on Jodi Sta. Maria, the ex-wife of her current boyfriend Pampi Lacson.

In an explosive interview with Cristy Fermin on "Paparazzi Showbiz Exposed" on Saturday, Iwa alleged that it was in fact Jodi who cheated on Pampi two years ago when the latter had an affair with Mickey Ablan, Iwa's boyfriend at that time. "Ang sakit po ng sinasabihan ako ng kabit, homewrecker, ang sakit po. Dahil alam ko sa sarili ko na hindi totoo ‘yun. At alam din ni Jodi kung ano ang totoo dahil siya naman talaga ang nag-umpisa ng lahat ng ito," Iwa said.

The former GMA talent said she confronted Jodi two years ago when she discovered the affair between her and Mickey. Although Mickey admitted it to Iwa, she said Jodi did not.

Iwa said she also called Pampi on the phone to tell her about the affair and she discovered that it wasn’t a secret to him, either. "Tinawagan ko si Pampi para pagsabihan niya ang asawa niya. Yun pala alam niya ang lahat," she revealed.

For further proof, Iwa cited Jodi's own silence about the reason why her marriage to Pampi ended in a separation. "Bakit mula noon hanggang ngayon hindi siya nagsasalita? Dahil alam niya sa sarili niya kung ano ang totoo. Mas masakit yun para sa kanya dahil alam niya yung totoo, niloloko niya yung sarili niya, e." Suma total, dito takot siyang magsalita dahil alam niya kapag pumitik ako, kapag nagalit ako, may pruweba ako at pwede ko pa siyang idikdik pababa," she said.

Iwa declared that she had nothing to do with the breakdown of the Jodi-Pampi marriage and that she and Pampi only became an item last month. "Ang suma total lang dito, gusto ko lang iklaro sa lahat na hindi ako ang naging dahilan kung bakit naghiwalay silang dalawa. Kung meron man silang problemang mag-asawa noon, sa kanila na yun. Pinauubaya ko na yun sa kanila kasi two years ago yun. Labas ako doon," she clarified.

Iwa told Cristy that her tell-all interview had Pampi's blessings. "Opo. All throughout hindi niya ako pinabayaan.

Iwa also confessed that she has gotten very close to Thirdy. "Si Thirdy, para sa akin, hindi man lumabas sa akin ‘yan, mahal ko iyan bilang anak ko. Tuwing nasa poder po ni Pampi si Thirdy, kami po ang laging magkasama. Minsan nga po iniiwan na sa akin, like ako ang maghahatid sa Kumon, mga ganun. "Kasi napamahal na sa akin yung bata. Yun ang batang hinding-hindi mahirap mahalin dahil napakabuti, napakabait, napakalambing," she said.

Iwa ended with this message for Jodi: "Naaawa ako sayo kasi ang hirap ng dinadala mo.
