Today, May 5, 2012 is the Floyd Mayweather vs. Miguel Cotto fight and here is MMA Fighting round-by-round Review:

Round 1: Cotto stalking but so far eating small potshots here and there from Mayweather. Short uppercut from Mayweather lands. Shovel punch from Mayweather lands, but Cotto still stalking. Cotto fires off a three-punch combo, but still he's taken more shots than Mayweather. MMA Fighting scores this round 10-9 in favor of Mayweather.

Round 2: Mayweather nearly gets thrown out of the ring, but they're separated now and Cotto still pressing forward. Mayweather ducks a right hand and now they're separated. Cotto crowding Mayweather and landing a few shots on the inside. Now a left hook for Cotto as Mayweather lays back against the ropes. Now Mayweather opening up a little. MMA Fighting scores this round 10-9 Cotto (19-19 overall).

Round 3: Cotto trying to close the distance and he's getting peppered with the jab by Mayweather plus a flush right hand. Cotto pressuring Mayweather against the ropes, but still hits mostly nothing but air. Now Mayweather finding gaps to land. Nice jab by Cotto. Mayweather with a straight right. Left jab again for Cotto. MMA Fighting scores this round 10-9 Mayweather (29-28 overall).

Round 4:
Several hard right hands from Mayweather find the mark in open space. Cotto tries to corner, but Mayweather won't be caught and lands a right hand of his own. Now Cotto doing a better job of cornering Mayweather, but not able to land much of anything. Cotto does manage to find some left hands while Mayweather is against the ropes, but he's still in control. MMA Fighting scores this round 10-9 Mayweather (39-37 overall).

Round 5: Cotto putting up a better fight than expected as again he's pressuring Mayweather into the ropes. Cotto trying to do body work, but a lot of it is being blocked and he eats a right hand. Cotto eats a few punches, but he's still pressuring forward on Mayweather. It's not clear how much he's landing. Nice left hook from Cotto. Now both fighters trading punches even if Mayweather's getting the better of it. MMA Fighting scores this round 10-9 Cotto (48-47 overall for Mayweather).

Round 6: Lunging leap for Cotto with a left and now a right. Cotto digs to the body and eats a right for his efforts. Nice jab from Cotto. Two nice jabs from Cotto have Mayweather bleeding. Left hook from Cotto at the last second lands. Cotto is able to find the jab, but now Mayweather is stalking. MMA Fighting scores this round 10-9 Cotto (57-57 overall for tie).

Round 7: Left hook to the body from Cotto to start the frame. Now a left hook for Mayweather. Cotto lands an uppercut on the inside. Short right finds the mark for Cotto. Cotto chasing Mayweather into the corner, but can't get it and Mayweather circles out. Mayweather landing much more this round. Cotto lands a left to the body, but that's probably Mayweather's round. MMA Fighting scores this round 10-9 Mayweather (67-66 overall for Mayweather).

Round 8: Cotto going back to the body and pressuring Mayweather into the ropes. Cotto's getting through a little bit now. Both fighters trading punches and Mayweather's off the ropes now. Both fighters trading left hooks in the center of the ring now. Cotto is almost bullying Mayweather now. Easy round for Cotto. MMA Fighting scores this round 10-9 Cotto (76-76 overall for the tie).

Round 9: Cotto still trying to pressure Mayweather into the ropes, but so far nothing doing. Mayweather lands a right. A lot of inside fighting as Cotto is trying to essentially push Mayweather into the ropes and is so far unsuccessful. Mayweather with a few short rights, but Cotto fires two hard lefts. Mayweather landing nice left uppercuts. MMA Fighting scores this round 10-9 Mayweather (86-85 overall for Mayweather).

Round 10: Cotto still trying to back him up and there's a lot more clinching this round. Mayweather is firing back with an overhand right, but eats a jab. Now fires his own jab. Close, close fight. Cotto with all the ring generalship here, but not landing any heavy shots. MMA Fighting scores this round 10-9 Mayweather (96-94 overall for Mayweather).

Round 11: Mayweather with a right straight to open the frame. Cotto leaping in to close distance and some of the shots are getting through. Cotto backing Mayweather into the ropes. Short left from Mayweather sneaks in against the ropes. Mayweather starting to get the better of this inside fighting. Nice left hook from Cotto. Mayweather finds two short rights. MMA Fighting scores this round 10-9 Mayweather (106-103 overall for Mayweather).

Round 12: And again, Cotto goes right back to the pressure. Now they're talking to each other. Mayweather punching his way out pressuring, but not doing so unscathed. Left hook ripped to the body by Cotto. Cotto got staggered by an uupercut and his legs wobbled. Mayweather fires off two more punches and now he's dancing. Cotto still pressing forward, however. Fight ends there. MMA Fighting scores this round 10-9 Mayweather (116-112 overall for Mayweather).

AQUA – the coolest event by the Manila Bay area's Manila Ocean Park.

Last April 28, 2012, everyone dressed up in his or her best summer fashion and had a fantastic time at Manila Ocean Park. AQUA – the coolest event by the Manila Bay area was presented by the Manila Ocean Park.
Bloggers, invited guests, tour operators, patrons, literally swim, party and groove the night away. Everyone had a fabulous time with the performances of top local bands Silent Sanctuary, Tanya Markova, Moonstar 88 and more. Guests had refreshing drinks at Liquid Pool Bar and Lounge and listen to the pulsating beats of house music and club DJ.  It is also the grand launch of Brand magazine - the newest hip publication in town.

If you visit Manila Ocean park, don't forget to check out over 5,000 breathtaking marine life species at the Oceanarium and marvel as you see live penguins for the first time in
  • Trails to Antarctica.
  • Meet adorable South American sealions in the Sealion Show
  • and be mesmerized with graceful dancing fairies of the sea in Jellies Exhibit.
  • At nighttime, a fusion of laser lights, water screens and other special effects are the highlights of the spectacular AQUA Musical Fountain Show.
AQUA was an event that we didn't  miss since this is the introduction of the latest technology to make Manila Ocean Park the first high-tech theme park in the country. The park has recently launched instant information download through mobile phone and other digital enhancements for guests' ease of access and convenience. We had availed of an e-wrist tag that lets us access Facebook and Twitter in real time. It automatically posted status updates and shared them to our friends while we're having fun in different attractions. Imagine how cool was that!

Ticket price is P300 inclusive of entrance to AQUA, 2 drinks and e-wrist tag and was sold at Manila Ocean Park. For details, visit www.manilaoceanpark.com or call 567-7777 loc. 151 and 155.

Unilever donates Php 400,000 to United Nations World Food Programme (WFP)

UFS, WFP join hands to boost school meals for 40,000 students in Central Mindanao
MANILA – Through its innovative “Sandwich Heroes” campaign, Unilever Food Solutions, a subsidiary of Unilever, has raised Php 400,000 in the Philippines for the United Nations World Food Programme (WFP). The donation will allow WFP to feed 40,000 children under its school meals programme in conflict-affected areas of Central Mindanao, particularly in Maguindanao, Lanao del Sur and Lanao del Norte.

“We are very grateful to Unilever for its longstanding partnership with WFP in the Philippines, including its latest creative efforts to help raise awareness of the issue of hunger in the country,” said WFP Philippines Representative and Country Director Stephen Anderson.

“The funds Unilever has donated will help WFP and its government counterparts, the Department of Social Welfare and Development and the Department of Education, provide hot nutritious meals for children in remote, conflict-affected areas.”

Thirteen restaurants took part in Unilever Food Solution’s pioneering project, which involved each restaurant offering their signature or best sandwiches for the campaign. Unilever Food Solutions made a donation to WFP for each featured sandwich sold from October 2011 to January 2012.

Bigg’s Diner, Cibo, The Coffee Experience, CoffeeBreak, Figaro, HotShots, JD Bakeshop, KFC, Mushroomburger, The Flying Pig, Holy Cow, The Sandwich Guy and Wham! Burgers all participated in the campaign.

“We’d like to thank our partner establishments for making our ‘Sandwich Heroes’ initiative a great success. We’re very proud to help feed 40,000 children in Central Mindanao,” said Unilever Food Solutions Managing Director Pinky Laurena.

“While this is just a pilot programme, what we already achieved here in the Philippines has caught the attention of other Unilever offices globally. Now, the Philippines effort has become an example for other countries to emulate, so we’re planning to expand this ‘Sandwich Heroes’ campaign this year,” she added.

Unilever has contributed to WFP and its fight against hunger in the Philippines since 2008. Globally, Unilever has been a WFP corporate partner since December 2006, donating a total of US$17.7 million to support WFP’s work around the world.

BE BLOWN AWAY BY 4 FINGERS CRISPY CHICKEN GOODNESS

BE BLOWN AWAY BY 4 FINGERS CRISPY CHICKEN GOODNESS

The Philippines Crispy Chicken market is already riddled with homegrown and overseas food concepts. You'll find them by the hundreds if not thousands here in Metro Manila and the provinces. Because of that it takes more to surprise and convince people to go back and be a regular patron. Yes,in the food business, coming out with a unique concept to attract diners can be a hard task to accomplish.

The crispy chicken that took Singapore by storm  4 Fingers Crispy Chicken is one of the newest franchise from Singapore which officially opened in the metro last January, 2012.

4 Fingers Crispy Chicken not only surprises but offers a new way to enjoy a Pinoy's favorite crispy chicken by pairing it with a fun design concept reminiscent of the New York subway scene complete with graffiti walls, ultra-hip music, white tiled wall, industrial lighting and a mural reflecting Korea town.

The eye-catching graffiti wall of 4 Fingers Crispy Chicken were hand-painted by the artist collective, Weewilldoodle.

The 4 Fingers Crispy Chicken franchise was brought to the Philippines by Alfonso Hortaleza, president of Mindblowing Delicious Food Corporation. He discovered the wonderful chicken brand during a business trip in Singapore.  He quickly fell in love with the concept.

The first 4 Fingers Crispy Chicken branch in the country is located at the ground floor of SM North Edsa just beside National Bookstore and Papa John's Pizza.

The name 4 Fingers was used because it is recognizable and easy to remember. Plus 4 Fingers Crispy Chicken also started with four friends getting together to launch a business and coincidentally, chicken feet have four toes.

4 Fingers Crispy Chicken was created in Singapore by four foodie friends with a shared passion for fine food and wine. The four foodie friends cooked up the 4 Fingers concept using a secret recipe that infuses various Asian spices and flavor.

This is Alfonso Hortaleza's first venture into the food industry.

Customers are lining up to taste the yummy 4 fingers crispy chicken  when we arrived. Its bright signage made it irresistible for anyone who sees the store not to queue up! .

4 Fingers Crispy Chicken’s combines a unique concept with great food, so he thought of bringing it to the country to share 4 Fingers Crispy Chicken’s taste with Pinoys.

I can't get enough of 4 Fingers Crispy Chicken

4 Fingers Crispy Chicken Korean-style method of a very lightly butter and double fried chicken renders out the fat and results in an ultra crispy and delicious chicken. 4 Fingers Fried chicken twice fried is available in two flavors: one that is coated with soy garlic or  the one coated with a spicy sauce.  Available in One piece or Two-piece Drumstick Chicken with Rice and Drinks of your choice. I had a Green iced tea.

4 Fingers Crispy Chicken is so fantastic-tasting! I was blown away.  I really really love it! It has a distinct flavor that will make you want for more! You can really eat every bit down to the bone without forcefully ripping it off. 4 Fingers Crispy Chicken flavor is not only skin deep!

Warning : 4 Fingers Crispy Chicken is extremely addicting! Imagine, I already ordered a two-piece fried chicken ( which I finished down to the bones) with rice and a green iced tea when I was with my friends.  In an hour I was back with my brother for him to try the best tasting chicken I was raving over the phone.  Yes, I bought another batch for take out. Ha ha ha! I tell you that this Korean-style Fried chicken is extremely delicious and addicting.

Katsu Chicken Sandwich

4 Fingers Crispy Chicken Tofu Salad

4 Fingers Crispy Chicken Wings with Fries.  Filipinos love crispy chicken wings. I think that will be the 4 Fingers bestseller.

I saw a signage at the counter of an ongoing promo for chicken wings from which you get two (2) pieces free for every six (6) pieces of chicken wings. It is reasonably priced at Php 189.00. I'll try this next time.

This is not a paid post. We paid for our meal. We really enjoyed our experience, not only because of the great tasting chicken but also with how accommodating the manager and staff is with our questions.

Verdict: Rating scale for these hottest fast food phenomenon, it gets 4 Fingers for it’s tender, juicy, delicious and crispy chicken. IT IS A MUST TRY! I was so blown away by its taste!

And yes, I'll be coming back for more!
