BREAST CANCER AWARENESS MONTH: Evolife Team Up with Unilab
BREAST CANCER AWARENESS MONTH: Evolife Team Up with Unilab
Evolife products are formulated
for cancer patients undergoing chemotherapy and radiotherapy treatments. Alleviating the Side Effects of Cancer treatment.
With the growing
census of cancer incidence in the country, there is real concern in
providing supportive care not only during treatment but more so when
the treatment side effects start manifesting.
For cancer patients,
managing the side effects is as important as addressing the cancer
itself. According to doctors, side effects can compromise treatment
and even recovery. According to Dr.
Maria Luisa Abesamis-Tiambeng, M.D., head of the CSMC Cancer
Institute, M.D. “The psychological scars caused by the physical
manifestations of treatment, like rashes, skin discoloration,
blackened nails and falling hair erode patients’ self-esteem and
the will to fight. But psychological well-being is crucial to a
successful treatment. If cancer patients feel low and miserable,
their response to treatment is greatly affected. So if the side
effects of treatment do not bother the patient, their treatment
regimen becomes more tolerable, if not welcome. Products like Evolife
can help make patients commit to their treatment regimen and achieve
the ultimate cure. These innovative products can prove crucial in
licking the Big C.”
In a concerted effort
to alleviate the side effects of chemotherapy and radiotherapy, Point
of Care Solutions Inc. (PCSI) in
partnership with United
Laboratories recently
introduced Evolife products to the Philippines.
PCSI is the exclusive distributor of
Evolife’s full range of cancer-support care products that treat the
cutaneous and cutaneous-mucuos side effects induced by chemotherapy
and radiotherapy. Evolife products are the result of years of
research and development by a dedicated team of dermatologists,
oncologists, and scientists based in France. Evolife Products contain
a unique blend of natural minerals that provide premium hydration and
protection for patients undergoing cancer treatment. They are the
first and only products of their kind that are effective, uniquely
designed with the needs of cancer patients in mind, and they are well
tested,” says oncologist J.F. Chanez in “The Neurogenic Component
of Cutaneous Toxicities Induced by Chemotherapy – New Solutions”,
European Oncology Journal, Vol 6:1, 28-30.
Michael S. Avelino. Managing Director of
Point of Care Solutions, Inc. said “As the company’s initial
offering, Evolife products deliver the company’s passion and
commitment to help cancer patients improve their quality of life.”
Evolife products underwent clinical trials
in the Philippines in 2011 and produced very positive results,
Avelino added.
Evolife products consist of skin care
products (EvoSkin Gel Cream and Evolife Hydrating Skin Cleanser which
provide a unique hydrating solution for skin side effects of cancer
therapy such as cracks, dryness and a burning sensation), oral care
products (EvoMucy mouthwash and spray for mouth sores, EvoLip for
chapped or sensitive lips, EvoDry mouth spray to combat mouth and
throat dryness and EvoDonto toothpaste for sensitive and irritated
gums), a scalp care product (EvoCapil hydrating hair spray that calms
the scalp and rejuvenates hair follicles to encourage hair
re-growth), a hygiene product (EvoDeo Deodorant Spray, an
alcolohol-free deodorant spray for hypersensitive skin controls hot
flashes and excessive sweating) and nail care products (EvoNail which
helps revitalize darkened, yellow, brittle or cracked nails and
restores them to their natural state).
Cancer patient, Tina, who underwent
chemotherapy and radiotherapy, experienced mouth sores and burning
sensations on her skin. “The mouth sores were too painful to eat
anything so I lost a lot of weight. After my doctor recommended
EvoMucy mouth wash the sores disappeared in 3 days for good. This
helped me regain my energy as I went through with my treatment. I
also used EvoSkin Gel Cream and EvoNail. After using it for a few
days, the burning sensation went away and my nails did not blacken at
all, unlike other patients undergoing treatment.”
This new product line will complement the
existing cancer treatment regimen being offered by Unilab and will
provide a wholistic supportive care program for cancer patients.

SULIT CLIQUE: Sulit.com.ph First Blogger's Event at Spicy Fingers
I was one of the bloggers who were invited by Sulit.com.ph to their first ever Blogger's event held last October 24, 2012 at Spicy Finger's in Greenbelt in Makati.
It was raining that day and I just came from two earlier events. Greenbelt is three hours away from home. That includes lining up at the MRT and walking from Ayala MRT station to Spicy Fingers for like twenty minutes, depending on how fast you walk. I don't want to proceed anymore to the venue but I already confirmed my attendance to Ms. Rachelle so for the sake of mutual respect and word of honor I walk and walk until I reached Spicy Fingers. I then registered, and enter the venue.
I hardly ate because I was so full already from an earlier event that I attended. Next time round, I will reserve some space for the great food selected by Sulit.
Good thing, Sulit had a photo booth and everybody had fun posing. Each one of us lined up, pose and had our pictures taken.
We also participated in a game, where we had to turn the tarpaulin around. Each group is consists of 5 members each. We called our group sulit. We did not win but we're happy that boy kuripot's team won. Even if we did not win anything, we felt happy because we get to play and had fun with other bloggers.
Ano ang hanap mo? You can find everything at sulit.com.ph. That's a fact.
My blogger friend Blanca won an Ipad during the raffle draw. I was misty eyed because I know that Blanca deserves the Ipad because her husband had just passed away and she hardly attend bloggers events since her husband had passed away.
We were also amazed by the story behind sulit.com.ph. The amazing couple Rj and Arianne David conceptualized their business inside Rj's room when they were still bf-gf. They are now married and amazingly turned sulit.com.ph into a multi-million business. Filipinos are really talented. The founder of sulit deserves a commendation and I think they should write a book and I hope that the book will be taught at business school or even in high school. Because that way, they can inspire other people to never give up and go for their dreams.

If your fast-paced lifestyle, sports-filled days, frequent partying and/or tedious work demands get you wondering where you’d get the next outburst of sustained energy, not to mention, aid to health, you now have the answer. (Or in certain cases, if your health condition prevents you from pursuing an active life, like some people interviewed with liver or some specific ailments, you may now have the answer.) A food supplement trusted by athletes worldwide, which occupies, in fact, a long history in the tradition of the Olympics, is now in the country through the trusted brand Gano Excel, distributed locally through Gano iTouch Phils. But Cordyceps is not only for the sporty and athletic people, it’s also for those of you who off and on feel that your energy is zapped but simply need to get going.
According
to the Gano Excel Founder, Sir Leow Soon Seng “Nutritious and
safe to take, Cordyceps is an all-natural, organic capsule made out of an edible mushroom species named Cordyceps, which is used
as herbal medicine. It is thus taken not only for energy and stamina, but also
for good health.”
“Traditionally called Cordyceps Sinensis, which widely known and used
in traditional Chinese medicine,it has been given names in both China and
Japan: the Chinese call it ‘DongChongXiaCao’or DCXC, while the Japanese refer
to it as ‘Tockukaso’, which means ‘winter-insect and summer-plant’.“
“It is
as old as the Qing Dynasty of the 1700s and has been written about by noted
Chinese scribes, as something made up of proteins, fibre, crude fats,
carbohydrates, cordycepin, cordycepic acid, polysaccharide, and different
vitamins, among others; it also increases oxygen utilization and enhances the
production of ATP—Adenosine triphosphate, which transports chemical energy within the cell for metabolism,” he adds.
Other Gano
Excel research findings about Cordyceps Sinensis: other bioactive components
are nucleotides, needed to produce RNA and DNA; ergosterol, which is an important
precursor of vitamin D2;amino acids which are protein building blocks; fatty
acids, both saturated and unsaturated, which help in lowering blood lipids and
protect from cardiovascular diseases; and metal elements, such as Zn, Mg, Mn,
which are good for the gonads and kidney. This is verified by the Journal of
Pharmacy and Pharmacology, which in 2008 stated that Cordyceps Sinensis has a
protective effect on organs. From the said journal, one can gather that it
deters liver fibrosis, hastens macrophage phagocytosis, and enhances the immune
function of organisms with its strong capacity to clear the virus.”
What’s more, Cordyceps
was found to boost the weak immune system and suppress overactive immune
reaction. This is according The Journal
of Leukocyte Biology Volume 85, June 2009. Several studies are available
to conclude that Cordycyeps may help enhance physical stamina and fight
fatigue, and may promote healthy respiratory and lung function. It helps reduce
bad cholesterol and blood sugar and increase good cholesterol. It may alleviate
back and knee pains, and may have anti-aging value. It may also help alleviate
sexual dysfunction in males.
Sir Leow adds, “There are
studies that indicate that Cordyceps has anticancer, anti-metastatic,
immuno-enhancing, and antioxidant effects. This is according to Gene Bruno of
the 2009 clinical trials MHS of Huntington College of Health Sciences, which
support the efficacy of Cordyceps especially on the liver, kidney and the
immune system.”
Bruno also made a
statement on how Cordyceps aids in endurance. He cites the testimonial of eight
female champion Chinese athletes, who vied in 1993 for a track distance event
in the Stuttgard World Championships who broke several
world records in 1993 in the Chinese National Games in Beijing and won a series
of medals at the German World Athletic Championships. The athletes said
in unison that they included Cordyceps in their diet along with intense
training and dedication. There are now even Filipinos who have tried Cordyceps
and will soon be giving testimonials on its efficacy.
