How to install your RFID

The guys at Easytrip suggest that you put your RFID on your headlight or windshield. Kindly make sure that you clean the part where you’re going to stick the RFID first with soap and water then pat it dry.

Any contaminants might mess up your installation or the RFID sticker itself. A relative had it installed at one of their installation sites and they put it on his windshield because it is much closer to the RFID reader in their toll booths.

Follow the instructions that came with your RFID, stick it yourself, and you’re done!

You can also watch the instructional video prepared by Easytrip.

I was saddened when I saw this statement below:  Under the first phase of the government's Toll Collection Interoperability Project, Autosweep tags will be readable at the Easytrip System, while the second phase will allow Easytrip RFID tags to be readable at the Autosweep System.

So, while waiting for the full implementation of the readable system, a car owner must secure both kinds of RFID stickers to avoid penalty just in case the car owner has future plans to visit Baguio or Tagaytay. Sigh.

FREE RFID STICKERS AT THE FOLLOWING INSTALLATION SITES

RFID Absolute implementation will be on November 30, 2020.
After that date any motorists whose car is without the RFID (Radio Frequency Identification)stickers will be apprehended and will be issued a citation ticket.

RFIDs came about after the Department of Transportation (DOTr) ordered tollways to adopt a cashless payment system to minimize human contact that could spread the coronavirus.

Though tollway operators offers fast and free RFID Installation a motorist must still secure two (2) different RFID Stickers as of press time.

- Autosweep RFID can only be used at SMC Tollways — the South Luzon Expressway (SLEx), Tarlac-Pangasinan-La Union Expressway (TPLEx), and STAR Tollway

- Easytrip RFID can only be used at MPTC Tollways at
North Luzon Expressway (NLEx), Subic-Clark-Tarlac Expressway (SCTEx), Cavite Expressway (Cavitex), Harbour Link, and Cala Expressway.

MPTC, SMC Tollways
long-term objective are to make their RFID stickers compatible
Metro Pacific Tollways Corp. and San Miguel Corp. Tollways

As of now, MPTC’s RFID is not compatible with the roads run by the SMC.

This means motorists who want to use roads run by both MPTC and SMC Tollways need to have two RFIDs — Easytrip for MPTC and Autosweep for SMC.

The good news is that both companies have agreed to achieve the interoperability of their RFIDs.

Compatibility of RFIDs is important to frequent travelers — like cargo movers, public transport operators, and businesspeople using tollways managed by both MPTC and SMC Tollways.

For example, motorists traveling up north to the Ilocos Region and the Cordillera might have a problem with their RFIDs: NLEx and SCTEx are run by MPTC while TPLEx is run by SMC Tollways.

The same scenario occurs down south: SLEx and Naia Expressway are run by SMC Tollways, but several adjacent expressways like Cavitex and CALA Expressways are under the jurisdiction of MPTC.

Please expect an all-RFID toll collection system in all expressways in the country by November 30, 2020 to comply with the orders from the Department of Transportation (DOTr).

“Telemedicine” poised as best solution during the COVID-19 pandemic

“Telemedicine” poised as best solution during the COVID-19 pandemic

The deadly COVID-19 virus has been in existence for just a few months but the whole world is already reeling various measures to control it from spreading. These include the closure of borders and strict stay-at-home quarantine for many citizens in countries hit by the deadly virus.

Hospitals have become the epicenter of lockdown areas and medical demand continues to grow exponentially as the pandemic spreads further.

Other than patients with chronic diseases who require medical resources regularly, those with symptoms of coughing and fever but not yet declared COVID-19 positive are worried that they'll be infected if they go to a hospital. Even if hospitals and clinics in Taiwan are close to people’s homes and are easily accessible, many still feel they are very far away.

Thus, “Telemedicine” is poised as the best solution amid this pandemic, according to Walter Yeh, President and CEO of Taiwan External Trade Development Council or TAITRA. “The technology being used in telemedicine/telehealth helps reduce the risk and cost of infection to patients and medical staff alike, and has become the best solution to treating patients with infectious diseases.”

According to a survey by Global Market Insights, the global market value of telemedicine will increase from US$38.3 billion in 2019 to US$130.5 billion in 2025 for a composite average growth rate of 19.2 percent. The pandemic may be causing windows of opportunity all over the world to close, but telemedicine offers a rare window of hope for the whole world. “Taiwan is able to integrate strategic advantages in information, communication, and medical strength and is therefore exclusively equipped with the potential to help develop the global telemedicine industry. Our goal is to combine Artificial Intelligence (AI) with big data in order to improve upon current medical information systems and image analysis.”

In a virtual press conference held recently, Yeh showcased to the media three telehealth solutions: Medimaging Integrated Solution, BIONIME, and Leadtek Research, Inc., who all developed products with the aim of advancing science. The solutions, said Yeh, share three common objectives, such as to reduce COVID-19 risks and medical costs for both patients and medical facilities, expedite a patient’s recovery from illness, and to promote proactive patient self-management.

The telehealth industry includes telehealth management, telehealth nursing and telemedicine. In terms of telehealth management, Leadtek, a Taiwan Excellence enterprise, has created its “amor physical and mental health management platform“ based on a wearable bracelet that can monitor personal data like sleeping habits, fatigue levels, blood circulation, and physical stress index. The comprehensive information it collects enhances knowledge of AI risk prediction, individual health patterns, and allows for personalized suggestions to boost self-health management.

On the other hand, “The Rightest Precision Health Combined Care Circle,” created by Bionime Corporation, collects and analyzes electronic data through digital health service stations and converts it into easily readable information charts. This powerful telecare nursing service provides professional medical hospitals and clinics with ideal solutions for institutional care management as well as follow-up care outside the institutions.
As for telemedicine, the “Horus Scope Digital Handheld Tonometer” developed by Medimaging is available to both physicians and optometrists and aims to facilitate the production of electronic medical records through digital photography or video recording. The image can be transmitted to the physician remotely for diagnosis to reduce the need for one-to-one contact.

Taiwan has been at the forefront of global COVID-19 prevention efforts. Through the full support of the government, transparent information exchange, industrial capability, and the combined effort of medical professionals, Taiwan has been able to showcase its strength in the medical industry. The Taiwan External Trade Development Council will continue to promote all aspects of the medical industry in Taiwan and will hold a "Taiwan International Medical and Healthcare Exhibition" at the Taipei Nangang Exhibition Center, Hall 2 October 15-17. Taiwan Excellence will also lead award-winning businesses to participate in the American Association for Clinical Chemistry and Clinical Laboratory Equipment Exhibition in December, ASEAN Senior Care & Wellness Expo in Malaysia in August, and MEDICA in Germany in November, to assist domestic manufacturers in expanding their business opportunities across the globe.

SENATOR KOKO PIMENTEL IS COVID-19 POSITIVE

Senator Koko Pimentel, a bar topnotcher, is considered a PUM (Person under Monitoring) since the day he and fellow senators were exposed to a resource person who tested CoViD-19 positive during a Senate hearing last March 5, 2020.

On March 9, 2020, the good senator had a meeting with his Senate staff.

On March 10 & 11, he attended a birthday party.

On March 11, the Senate adjourned session for Holy Week.

From March 11 onwards, the Senators who attended that March 5 hearing were notified to observe a 14-day self-quarantine period because of their exposure to a resource person at the Senate last March 5.

Last March 14, he experienced body pains like flu,  minor cough, slight sore throat and on-and-off diarrhea.

On March 16, his colleague Senator Miguel Zubiri were tested CoViD-19 positive.

Last March 18, he experienced a slight fever which shifted his status to PUM (Person Under Monitoring).

On March 20, he took a CoViD-19 test.

Last night, March 24 at around seven pm the Honorable Senator Koko Pimentel breached the protocol of his stringent home quarantine and went to the #MakatiMed delivery room together with his wife Katrina who is about to give birth to a baby girl. By doing so, the Senator exposed the doctors, nurses, anaesthetiologist and other patients as well to #Covid19 He was also seen on CCTV walking around the hospital without a facemask.

On the same day, March 24 at around 9 pm, he got a call from RITM (Research Institute for Tropical Medicine) that he was CoViD-19 positive. He immediately left #MMC.

Hashtag #LawmakerLawbreaker šŸ˜¢ trended because of this incident.

Ignorance of the law excuses no one! Please practice what you preach šŸ™šŸ™šŸ™ Dura lex sed lex.

Idol ko pa Naman ang tatay mo šŸ˜¢ šŸ˜

Update: He admitted his fault and apologized. Get well Senator Koko Pimentel. Praying for your fast recovery.šŸ™

Congratulations to your upcoming third baby. Please make it up to your people. Please remember, the Filipino people idolizes you that's why you won a Senate seat.

God bless the Philippines. May this CoViD-19 virus disappear in the entire world.

CoViD-19 Mass Testing Equipment Badly Needed

#MassTesting pleasešŸ™

Downplaying the possibility of an outbreak had caused the lives of the citizens of different countries all over the world.

I know that you know that the numbers of CoViD-19 positive Filipinos are significantly lower than the actual unknown numbers of infected people in the Philippines.

Some badly hit countries like South Korea did mass testing and offer it drive-thru style and they were able to flatten the curve so far.

A small town called Vo in Italy did one hundred percent testing of its residents and they were able to separate 90 CoViD-19 positive residents and put them in quarantine.  So far since March 13 Wala pa Po silang new cases. See this Facebook post

COVID testing is critical to protect the frontliners and our love ones but it’s not the only way to contain the virus. But it is very very important.

I am a nobody. I don't have a clout. I don't have power. But I am knocking at the heart of human beings. Nanawagan Po ako at kumakatok Sa mga puso ng bawat Isa Sa inyo. Sa mga may pera Sana magdonate Po kayo ng laboratory at CoViD-19 testing equipment. Hindi ako lider. Our leaders had failed to act swiftly. To our leaders please act now! There's still time pa po please SAVE LIVES!

I know for a fact that with our very limited resources dito Sa Pilipinas napakabigat ng wish ko na Ito.

If positive ka or ako ayaw mo rin makahawa di ba? Sa puso ko, sa isip ko gusto Kong maprotektahan Ang Mahal ko Sa buhay. Sana Yun din ang nais mo.

šŸ™ Please Po, I am appealing to those with vast resources maybe this is your chance to do good to others. Please buy an equipment, set up a laboratory. Do mass testing. Impossible? No, if we unite together.

#MassTestingPHNow šŸ™šŸ™šŸ™

"Openness, transparency.  Early detection is the key to save lives" - South Korea's Foreign Minister Kang Kyung-wha

“Inaction is the worst action of human beings!”-
Mehmet Murat ildan

Please do Mass testing for those with comorbidities, PUI's, PUM's and frontliners including high risk individuals like the laundry attendants who wash the clothes of doctors and nurses because they no longer have enough energy to wash their clothes. Those cashiers, guards, baggers who serve you in your local grocery and supermarkets.  Do you want the virus to be transferred to you when you get your change and hold your groceries?

Human beings please do something! Save lives. Let's be kind to one another. Let's unite and make the impossible possible.

Remember kapag CoViD-19 positive ka may mahahawa ka!

VICE GANDA INSPIRE PEOPLE BY DONATING TO FRONTLINERS

The South Koreans oppa (ģ˜¤ė¹ ), hyung (ķ˜•), noona (ėˆ„ė‚˜), and unnie (ģ–øė‹ˆ)  donated large amount of money for the research and help for the victims of CoViD-19 virus in South Korea. They are so awe inspiring.

I felt so happy when my favorite stars, our very own local talents and celebrities started using their clout and resources to help our government in providing for our less fortunate brothers and sisters. One by one they started helping the displaced and the needy.  Some of them even sent facemasks, gloves etc. to our  frontliners who unselfishly risk their lives for the good of everyone.

Joining the lists of celebrities is Meme Vice Ganda who earlier today started distribution of N95 masks, medical grade Gloves and Goggles, alcohol and Disinfectant Spray to:

BELA PADILLA: Personally Distributed Food to Our Kababayans

Bela Padilla is beautiful inside and out.  She raised Php3.3 Million in just two days to help aid our displaced street vendors , front liners and military.

Bela Padilla followed Community quarantine and isolated herself but got heartbroken when she read on social media the state of some of our fellow Filipinos because of the lockdown due to COVID-19 virus that affected the whole wide world including the Philippines.

She risked exposure to Corona virus by personally distributing the food packs they prepared. But you can see the happiness that radiates in her eyes. Genuine and kind I would again ask you this question: Bela, what it is that you cannot do?

Krista Elyse Hidalgo Carino Sullivan, better known by her stage name Bela Padilla, is a Filipino actress, film producer, screenwriter, occasional host, and model.

Mabuhay ka Bela!

PAPA PIOLO PASCUAL'S MONEY TIPS

"Lack of money, being broke, and constant worry over how to pay the bills does indeed put significant stress on both relationships and happiness. Lack of money can easily end both".

Overseas Filipinos can learn a thing or two or even more from our kabayan Papa P or Piolo Pascual. Everyone knows that he is very smart when it comes to money matters.

BDO Remit brand ambassador Piolo Pascual is very proud of his life as an Overseas Filipino (OF). While it was very challenging, he said his life abroad was full of valuable lessons, which helped him achieve financial freedom.

People may not know that Piolo temporarily left showbiz at age 19 to join his mom and other siblings in California, USA. There, he juggled two jobs, working as a hospital staff during the day and as a security guard in downtown Los Angeles at night. He was working almost 16 hours a day, only to make ends meet.

“It was hard at first because I was blocked out of the life that I had here. I was already an actor back then living a different lifestyle. When I migrated to the US, I had to start from scratch. I had to work right away or else I wouldn’t have any food on the table,” he said of his early struggles.

“My sister and I were just renting a place. My mom, who lives in the same community, would drop by once in a while to give us food. But even so, we still had to fend for ourselves. I had two jobs because my salary was not enough to pay for my insurance, my car, my rental, my food, and allowance,” Piolo added.
Two years after moving to the states, he decided to go back home. He wanted to give acting another try. While his years as an OF didn’t last long, he credits much of his success to the valuable lessons he learned while living and working abroad.

“I wouldn’t be what I am today if it weren’t for the hardships I went thru as an OF. I learned to work very hard to be able to pay for things but at the same time, I learned not to spend beyond my means. It really takes discipline to be practical and not buy things that you really do not need,” he said.

Piolo did not only work hard to earn his keep, he worked doubly hard to protect it. He shared he remains a very practical person, who would rather spend on things that would bring in returns, than on material possessions.

More importantly, he learned that part of protecting your hard-earned money is choosing the right remittance partner, one that not only promises convenience but security as well.

“My mom was already in the US when we were growing up. At that time, it was so hard for us to get money from her for our schooling. We would then go to an agency, which would charge us with all sorts of fees. BDO really changed the landscape of remittance. They made it easy for Filipinos overseas to send money to their loved ones,” he said.

As a former OF, Piolo said he knows how much our kababayans abroad sacrifice just to be able to provide for their families back home and so he cautions OFs against sending money to just any remittance agency especially those they just happen to see online.

“You are entrusting your hard-earned money to others. Always go for someone who is trustworthy, who has a track record, and who has been there for a long time. The last thing that you want to happen is for your money not to reach your loved ones. That’s why I always choose BDO. With BDO, you are confident that your money will be safely remitted to your loved ones back home,” he said.
