MISS UNIVERSE 2012: Miss USA Wins

Miss Universe 2012 first runner-up Miss Janine Tugonon with Jory Rivera.
Our very own Miss Philippines Janine Mari Tugonon placed first runner up in the Miss Universe pageant held Wednesday (US time) in Las Vegas, Nevada in the United States of America. Miss USA Olivia Culpo won the title of Miss Universe 2012.

Top Five were: Philippines, Australia, Brazil, United States, and Venezuela.

During the Question and Answer portion, renowned photographer Nigel Barker asked Tugonon a question from Twitter: "As a global ambassador, do you think speaking English should be a prerequisite to being Miss Universe?"

Tugonon answered, "Language isn't the only important thing. As long as you can influence and inspire other people, as long as you have a strong mind, spirit, you can be Miss Universe."

Janine Tugonon called Miss Universe "a battle of a lifetime," noting that Filipinos are inherently fond of beauty pageants. "If I make it here, I feel that I can give them hope, and it's an early Christmas gift to them," she said.

Congratulations Janine!

ADVISORY: EDSA Bus Segregation Scheme

ADVISORY: EDSA Bus Segregation Scheme started last Tuesday, December 18, 2012.  It causes a lot of confusion not only among the commuters but also among confused bus drivers. With the new scheme there are designated bus stops for every bus, depending on their classification whether Bus A, B or C. Don't fret it is really as easy as ABC. So read on....

We'll make this simple. Let's check first the picture/ illustration below. Copy of which is plastered on each bus. If you are in a hurry, say for example, coming from Kamuning, you're going to POEA then you better ride at Bus B, because in just 3 stops you'll be at POEA na.

Bus A Designated Bus Stops: Southbound
( Coming from (for example) Trinoma to Makati)
  • Ermin Garcia
  • Arayat Cubao
  • VV Soliven
  • Connecticut
  • Shaw/ Starmall
  • Guadalupe
  • Buendia
  • Magallanes
Bus A Designated Bus Stops: Northbound
( Coming from Magallanes to Cubao)
  •  Magallanes
  •  Buendia
  •  Guadalupe
  •  Shaw Blvd.
  •  SM Megamall
  •  Boni Serrano
  •  Cubao Farmers
  •  Ermin Garcia
Bus B Designated Bus Stops: Southbound
( Coming from Trinoma to Makati)
  • Kamuning
  • Monte De Piedad
  • Main Avenue
  • POEA Ortigas
  • Pioneer/Boni
  • Estrella
  • Ayala Avenue
Bus B Designated Bus Stops: Northbound
( Coming from Magallanes to Cubao)
  • Ayala Avenue
  • Estrella
  • Pioneer/Boni
  • SM Megamall
  • Ortigas Avenue
  • Main Avenue
  • Baliwag/ 5 Star
Bus C Stop on all Designated Bus Stops: Southbound
  • Kamuning
  • Ermin Garcia
  • Monte De Piedad
  • Arayat Cubao
  • Main Avenue
  • VV Soliven
  • Connecticut
  • POEA Ortigas
  • Shaw/ Starmall
  • Pioneer/Boni
  • Guadalupe
  • Estrella
  • Buendia
  • Ayala Avenue
  • Magallanes
Bus C Stop on all Designated Bus Stops:Northbound
  •  Magallanes
  •  Ayala Avenue
  •  Buendia Avenue
  •  Estrella
  •  Guadalupe
  •  Pioneer/Boni
  •  Shaw Blvd.
  •  SM Megamall
  •  Ortigas Avenue
  •  Boni Serrano
  •  Main Avenue
  •  Cubao Farmers
  •  Baliwag/5 Star
  •  Ermin Garcia
Tip: Bus A stop only at Bus A designated bus stops. Bus B stop at designated bus B stops. Bus C that stop on all designated Bus stops. Because if you get confused, it might take you longer before you reach your destination, so I think it is better if you check the chart before hopping on the next bus. Be Wa-is! Have a merry Christmas people!

Si Agimat si Enteng Kabisote at si Ako: Showing on December 25, 2012

Si Agimat si Enteng Kabisote at si Ako: Showing on December 25, 2012

Last Monday, I was invited by Faye and Melai to the blogger's conference of SI AGIMAT, SI ENTENG KABISOTE AT AKO. Bossing Vic Sotto gamely answered all the questions thrown at him by the bloggers. Well, he had no choice he's the only one present among the stars of the movie during the Blogger's conference.( Lol! ) He is truly an adorable person. He confirmed that for the float alone, the producers spent 1 million, so you can just imagine, how much is the budget for the movie. So, don't you miss the float parade scheduled on December 23, 2012. And the movie itself which will be shown on December 25, 2012.

The story begins with the establishment of the three different worlds apart, bound to meet for an adventure like no other – the humble family-oriented story of ENTENG KABISOTE played by top comedian VIC SOTTO
Enteng Kabisote is a low-profile technician married to the beautiful Fairy Princess of Encantasia, FAYE (GWEN ZAMORA).

The battles of the AGIMAT (RAMON “BONG” REVILLA, JR.), the brave village Warrior Hero of Amuleto;

And the last but not the least high tech-yuppie Kingdom of Diwatara ruled by Princess ANGELINA KALINISAN-ORTEZA (JUDY ANN SANTOS), also known in the human world as “AKO,” where she leads an environmental advocacy organization. Uhu, yun pala ang meaning ng AKO lol.

From the initial installment “Si Agimat at Si Enteng Kabisote” in 2010, the friendship and partnership of Enteng and Agimat continues. From an ‘eligible bachelor’ Hero, Agimat now strives to apply all his learning from Enteng and Faye as he himself tries to start his own family with wife, also an Amuleto warrior, SAMARA (SAM PINTO). The fun levels up as Aiza brings Angelina and her comic modern Fairy sidekicks Pink Kapre CHE (John Lapus), Winged Horse SOL (Yassi Pressman) and Computer-wiz Dwarf CHICHAY (Ryzza Mae Dizon), into the lives of the Kabisote’s and the Amuleto couple.

As the fun triples, so as the adventure and thrill as they are confronted with high-tech and primitive villains from somewhere totally out of their worlds: cannibal tribes of the Tokatoks and filthy alien monsters from other planet. Witness unparalleled battle stunts set in the Philippines’ never-before-seen destinations as Agimat, equipped with his one-of-a-kind swordsmanship, Enteng and his iconic comic fighting style and Princess Angelina, in her Mystical Bird alter ego wins the battle of good over evil.

Enteng movie as it has always been known, values family, marriage, friendship, responsibility, forgiveness, love and respect and the protection of the one and only Mother Earth. Si Agimat, Si Enteng Kabisote at Ako, is a rollercoaster ride of drama, action, magic, visual effects, production design, cinematography and an unlimited fun and laughter for everyone.
