UNIQLO announces that its final collection based on the collaborative design project with acclaimed designer Jun Takahashi, and his cult-hit Undercover fashion label, will be released in the Philippines from August 22. Similar to the spring-summer collection, the 2012 fall-winter collection will focus on a family theme and include a line-up of apparel for women, men and children. The first phase of the new collection will go on sale at the UNIQLO store in SM Mall of Asia, as well as UNIQLO stores in 11 markets outside of the Philippines.
The line, available exclusively at UNIQLO stores, has been very successful since its debut this past spring. The concept of this unique one-year project has been the family, with collections that offer stylish clothes for parents and their children. The offerings have won fans all around the world by combining UNIQLO’s high-quality casual clothing with designs that reflect the Undercover label’s distinctively edgy and fashionable look.

The 2012 fall-winter collection includes close to 100 items for men, women and children, and it brings together Undercover’s unique design aesthetic with UNIQLO’s high performance fabrics. Under the direction of Mr. Takahashi, UNIQLO signature fabrics and materials such as those used in its HEATTECH line of garments and its Ultra Light Down jackets are fashioned into fresh and original designs. The line up covers a broad range of clothing needs for the fall and winter seasons; the men’s and women’s offerings come in a palette of colors such as wine, olive, gray and black, whereas the children’s items are available in a mixture of bright colors such as pink, red and yellow and darker tones such as wine and blue.

Acclaimed Japanese designer Jun Takahashi established the Undercover label with a friend in 1990, when he was a student at Bunka Fashion College in Tokyo. After Undercover’s celebrated Tokyo Collection debut in 1994, the brand shifted to the global stage with a highly acclaimed appearance at Paris Fashion Week in 2002. In the international fashion world, Takahashi is known for inventively blending a distinctively punk-inspired aesthetic and elements of modern street fashion to produce uniquely high-end styles.

VIDEO: Leni Robredo to run for a seat in Congress

It came as a shock not only to me but also to a lot of Bicolanos that Lawyer Maria Leonor “Leni” Robredo, widow of the late Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG) Secretary Jesse Robredo, earlier today, Friday, October 5, 2012, decided to run for a seat in Congress, according to television reports.

Atty. Leni Robredo has decided to represent the third district of Camarines Sur under the Liberal Party (LP), the same party of her late husband, where she has recently been assigned as chief of the LP in Camarines Sur.

Atty. Leni Robredo was accompanied by her youngest daughter, Jillian Robredo, who tagged along with her mom to the Comelec office.

Atty. Leni Robredo arrived at the Comelec office with a throng of supporters clad in yellow. Earlier, Naga City vice mayor Gabby Bordado, who was supposed to run as congressman in the third district of Camarines Sur, decided to endorse Robredo instead. Employees of the city hall trooped to her home to urge her to run in the midterm elections.

She has been urged to compete with Nelly, the wife of Camarines Sur Representative Luis Villafuerte Sr. who will be running for governor after his third term as congressman. Another contender for the position of representative of the third district of Camarines Sur is former Solicitor General Anselmo Cadiz.
There has been a lot of talk of the administration party asking Atty. Leni Robredo to run for the 2013 midterm elections but House of Representatives Speaker Feliciano Belmonte Jr. said that the widow of the former DILG chief showed no interest in politics.

Shocked as we may be, we, Bicolanos, throw our support behind Atty. Leni Robredo.

LOTTE XYLITOL: Dental Health Gum

LOTTE XYLITOL: Dental Health Gum

Say bye bye to weak teeth!

Our Mom is our do-all, know-all true friend and as some people say, our “bestest best” friend in the world. Nothing she says or does will make us look or feel bad; most of the time, she is our comforter when we are depressed, our companion when we are alone, and our reliable problem-solver.

And she’s even more unfailing when it comes to her family’s health, especially her kids. She is
our round-the-clock reminder when it comes to telling us to take our medicines when we are
sick, to drink a glass of milk either before going to bed or during breakfast, or brushing our teeth before and after meals.

Speaking of brushing our teeth, this is something that most kids forget—well, don’t like—to follow no matter how much they love their Moms. However, lesson is learned later when their teeth begins to ache because of tooth decay.

When we eat, food particles get stuck in the teeth, especially in between brushing and flossing. These food particles contain sugars and acids that may destroy minerals in the teeth that, in turn, trigger a chemical reaction that causes the tooth enamel to tarnish and erode fast, thus making it weak and brittle.

But tooth decay can be avoided by eating a well-balanced diet, brush, flossing regularly, brushing the teeth with a fluoride-based toothpaste, and visiting the dentist at least twice a year.

And for added measure, Moms can give their kids’ teeth a little “exercise” to be fit enough for stronger, harder and bigger bites and bring back lost teeth minerals through “remineralization” by getting into the habit of chewing a dental health gum such as Lotte Xylitol Neo.

Highly recommended by dentists, Lotte Xylitol Neo Dental Health Gum has xylitol, a natural sugar that helps stop the growth of cavity-causing bacteria to help reduce the risk of tooth decay. Plus, the “calcium phosphates” of Lotte Xylitol Neo Dental Health Gum is the mineral mainly responsible in helping “remineralize” or rebuild your teeth.
With just 2 pellets 4-5 times a day of Lotte Xylitol Neo Dental Health Gum, imagine the tremendous benefits to your kids’ teeth.
So who says kids can’t bite more than they can chew? From now on, your kids can say goodbye to weak teeth and say hello to good, strong bites by helping their teeth become stronger with a little help from Lotte Xylitol Neo Dental Health Gum!

Sold and distributed in the Philippines by Lotte Confectionary (Pilipinas) Corp., Lotte Xylitol Neo Dental Health Gum, which comes in Fresh Mint, Blueberry Mint and Lime Mint, is available at  leading supermarkets, major drugstores and convenience stores.
