Aray Mo, Pacman, Galing Natin, Pilipinas!

Tips to enjoy these FREE MOVIES:
  • Be there at least two (2) hours before showing time.1st come 1st served

  • In case, you haven't been to Shang Cineplex it is located on the 6th level.
Seventeen of France’s most-loved film feats await cinephiles this year, which includes a seven-film retrospect on director-extraordinaire Olivier Assayas, one of the first European directors to pay attention to Asian films; and an eight-film treat from L’Institut Francais.

The festival opens with no less than the 2012 Academy award-winning movie The Artist, a black-and-white silent film that follows the life of George Valentin - a Hollywood silent film star - whose career has come to a close due to the collapse of the silent film industry. He attempts to revive his career by financing his own picture, which opens against a talkie starring up-and-coming young dancer Peppy Miller, who he develops a fascination for.

Kicking off the streak of Assayas films is L’Eau froide (Cold Water), a story that revolves around the individual lives of Gilles and Christine - both children of divorced parents - who eventually decide to hit the road together after Christine escapes a mental institution and meets up with Gilles at a party. The journey ends as they end up at the Massif central, where Christine disappears and leaves Gilles to face up to his future.

Next in line is experimental film Irma Vep, which stars Hong Kong action star Maggie Cheung as herself coming to Paris to play Irma Vep in a story that recreates Louis Feuillade’s Les Vampires. However, trouble arises as the fragile nature of French film-making and the director’s mental instability make the shoot a total catastrophe.

Les Destinées Sentimentales (Sentimental Destinies) takes on the heartwarming story of Jean and Pauline, whose sentimental destinies intertwine in the midst of a post-World War I society where certainties and industrial dynasties are crumbling. Even though Jean has resigned himself to the failure of his past marriage, they both find a love that is stronger than the past and the passing time.

Industrial espionage, corporate war and personal duels make for a plot for Demonlover, where young, seductive senior executive Diane de Monx becomes a pawn in global intrigues and treachery stretching from Japan to Mexico after the company she belongs to acquires Tokyo Anime, a Japanese company that produces animated pornography.

Emily Wang tries to get back on her feet in Clean, where she vows to give up drugs and change her ways in order to resume her role as a mother after being forbidden to see her son Jay. However, after getting to see Jay again and spending several wonderful hours with him, she finds herself confronted with a choice between her son and the chance to resume her singing career. The Film Clean won the Technical Grand Prize Award at the Cannes Film Festival in 2004.

Capping off the Assayas anthology is Family tension intensifies within the Berthier family as conflicting ideas rise to the surface upon the death of their mother, Hélène Berthier, whose life has been devoted to preserving the legacy of her uncle - painter Paul Berthier. The children are left to deal with objects from the past and must decide whether to break up the collection or live with it, as well as what is to become of the family home.

Kicking off the film line-up from L’Institut Francais is Le Mariage à Trois (The Three-way Wedding), where playwright Auguste struggles to finish his play and his feelings towards lead star Fanny, who also happens to be his former wife. When Fanny informs him that she will be marrying Theo, his leading man, Auguste tries to prove himself by seducing Harriet - his young assistant - who he later finds to be the ideal fit for the play’s principal role.

Au fond des Bois (Deep in the Woods) stirs intrigue with the character of Timothee - a strange yet charismatic drifter who managed to impress everyone, including Doctor Hughes and her daughter, Josephine, with his talent for magic and hypnosis. But when he subjects Josephine to a brutal rape, his image is tainted and he leaves the village with Josephine in tow. Doctor Hughes is then left wondering if she is going off on her own free will or if he has mesmerized her into doing his bidding.

Le Refuge (Hideaway) revolves around the lives of Mousse and Louis - a rich, young, beautiful couple whose lives have been invaded by drugs. One day, they overdose and Louis dies. Mousse survives, but soon learns she's pregnant. Feeling lost, Mousse runs away to a house far from Paris. Several months later, Louis' brother joins her in her refuge.

Meanwhile, Roses à Crédit (Roses on Credit) is a drama centered on a woman whose life is taken over by greed. Struggling with the aftermath of World War II, Marjoline and her husband, Daniel, dig themselves deeper into debt with no end in sight as Marjoline’s lust for consumer products ceases to fade.

Journey with close friends Lila and Ely as they are lured by the Paris elite in Tout Ce Qui Brille (All that Glitters). Unable to resist, they begin to pick up tips and tricks on how to infiltrate the upper class and begin to carve unique paths for themselves; but the new social circles begin to take their toll both on a familial and romantic level - and the friendship between Lily and Ely begins to strain and crack under the pressure of social advancement. Tout Ce Qui Brille (All that Glitters) won the Best First Film Award at the 2011 César Awards.

Composed of several chapters, L’Art d’Aimer (The Art of Love) is a movie following the stories of several Parisian couples. Isabelle, who has not had sex in a year, declines Zoé’s offer to "lend" her husband - and ends up impersonating Amélie, who cannot bring herself to sleep with her buddy Boris. On the other hand, Achille prances around a possible new affair, a middle-aged couple’s marriage is threatened, and a pair of young lovers discovers the pangs of jealousy.

L’Ordre et La Morale (Rebellion) is a film set in Ouvea island in New Caledonia, where 30 policemen are held hostage by locals fighting for their independence. 300 members of the French Army Special Forces Unit are immediately sent on a mission, in an attempt to solve the situation through mutual trust and dialogue over violence.

Last but not least, L’arnac?ur (Heartbreaker) brings the festival to a close as lead character Alex, together with his sister, operates a business designed to break up relationships. Hired by a wealthy man to prevent the wedding of his daughter to an Englishman, they try to complete the seemingly impossible job of breaking up a relationship that looks like it has none of the usual flaws, thus putting Alex’s honorable principles to the test.

MADONNA FLASHES NIPPLE AT ISTANBUL CONCERT

Madonna's fans in Istanbul, Turkey, got an unexpected surprise/shock Saturday night when the 53-year-old singer pulled her top down and flashed her right breast to the crowd.

The Material Girl was in the middle of her 1995 single "Human Nature" when she exposed her nipple in an even more blatant and intentional wardrobe malfunction than Justin Timberlake and Janet Jackson's Nipplegate controversy at Super Bowl XXXVIII in 2004.

The singer appeared to be playing the crowd while dancing on stage and performing a striptease in which she removed her shirt and a support strap before sauntering to the front of the stage and pulling down the right cup of her bra.

The crowd of 55,000 went wild with a roar of approval and when she turned around the words "No Fear" were temporarily tattooed across her back. The singer also went on to put her hand down her pants before singing her megahit "Like A Virgin."

This video has been age-restricted. If you are over 18 years old click here

Nipplegate II is the second time the singer has stirred a controversy in just over a week - during the first night of her world tour to promote new album "MDNA" the singer flashed an image of France's National Front leader Marine Le Pen on video screens during her show with a swastika superimposed over the politician's forehead.

CONTROVERSIAL CROWNING OF BRADLEY AS THE NEW WBO WELTERWEIGHT CHAMPION

CONTROVERSIAL CROWNING OF BRADLEY AS WBO WELTERWEIGHT CHAMPION

I bet each and everyone of you have heard about the CONTROVERSIAL CROWNING of
Timothy  Bradley as the 2012 WBO WELTERWEIGHT CHAMPION.

Timothy Bradley said to have defeated Manny Pacquiao in a 12-round boxing match last June 9, 2012 in MGM Grand Arena in Nevada, USA.

If you had watch the fight, it is noticeable that Manny Pacquiao seemed to dominate the fight against Timothy Bradley from the opening round until the middle round. While there were a few (3-4) rounds that seemed like that could be scored for Bradley, it seemed impossible by the time the final bell had sounded that Timothy Bradley had done nearly enough to take a decision but unfortunately that's exactly what happened.

Manny Pacquiao's hard straight left landed on Bradley's face almost all night long from the early to middle rounds.

Manny's powerful blows were certainly more telling than Bradley's much lighter shots. Beyond the quality and power of the shots landed, Pacquiao dominated in terms of actual punches landed and accuracy.

Manny Pacquiao landed better, bigger, monster punches that rocked Timothy Bradley. See Video!

Manny Pacquiao landed 253 out of 751 thrown whereas Bradley landed only 159 out of 839 thrown.

This is clearly the worst decision ever that the Nevada Athletic Commission had made. Keith Kizer, executive director of the Nevada Athletic Commission should overturn the judges decision and suspend the two judges who declared Bradley as the winner.

"I've never been as ashamed of the sport of boxing as I am tonight"-Bob Arum
"Can you believe that? Unbelievable, I went over to Bradley before the decision and he said, 'I tried hard but I couldn't beat the guy."- Bob Arum

"He hurt me a couple of times with his left. He's a beast." - Timothy Bradley
"I got my second wind in the sixth round I worked the angles, sticking and moving." - Timothy Bradley

"He never hurt me with his punches, most of them landed on my arms"-Pacquiao

"I did my best but I guess my best wasn't good enough." - Manny Pacquiao

Mark November 10, 2012 on your calendar that will be the date of the rematch between Manny Pacquiao vs.Timothy Bradley.

BOB ARUM'S REACTION

Top Rank BOB ARUM'S REACTION regarding Nevada judges vote in lopsided split decision:
"I've never been ashamed to be associated with the sport of boxing - tonight I am. "

Manny Pacquiao loses WBO World Welterweight title toTimothy Bradley

Early on in the fight, Pacquiao fired off punches that were landing with shocking precision on Timothy Bradley's face.

Supporting pictures below:

So how come Manny Pacquiao lost his WBO World Welterweight title to Timothy Bradley by a split decision?

The result was highly criticized by celebrities and everyone else in social media be it in twitter or facebook. Top Rank CEO Bob Arum called out the judges saying they "didn't know how to score."

Here are some questions that runs through everyone's brain:
How  the hell did the judges score the fight?

Jerry Roth is the only judge who scored the fight in favor of the People's Champ, 115-113. Both CJ Ross and Duane Ford scored it 115-113 in favor of Desert Storm.

How did the rest of the sports world score the fight?

Fox Sports: 119-100 for Pacquiao
LA Times: 117-111 for Pacquiao
Guardian UK: 117-111 for Pacquiao
ESPN (Dan Rafael): 119 - 109 for Pacquiao
Compubox: Pacquiao outlanded Bradley 253-159 in total punches.
Manny landed more punches in 10 of 12 rounds.

Picture from rappler
According to HBO (Harold Lederman): #Compubox:
Total punches landed/thrown in bout: Pacquiao 253/751, Bradley 159/839

#LedermanCard 119-109 Pacquiao

Fighthype.com: 116-112 Pacquiao

Eastside Boxing: 118-110 Pacquiao

Rappler also scored the fight 119-109 in favor of the 8-division world champion.

Thrash those statistics! Pacquiao loss was fixed, so there can be a huge & profitable rematch! Boxing is big business in  LasVegas, USA.

Everyone wants to see manny avenge this loss. They could cash in again with the rubber match should Manny win the 2nd fight.

So who really won?  The promoter Bob Arum, MGM, Manny Pacquiao with Guaranteed $26 Million, Bradley $5 Million

NEW WBO WELTERWEIGHT CHAMPION IS TIMOTHY BRADLEY

CONGRATULATIONS TIMOTHY BRADLEY
Winner by split decision.
I don't know how the judges came up with the score. Considering Bradley did not land any solid punch on Manny Pacquiao.
Manny Pacquiao (54-3-2 38 KOs) is favored over Timothy Bradley (28-0 12 KOs) before the fight. The underdog Bradley did not land any solid punch on Manny Pacquiao. When the commentators said that Timothy Bradley won by split decision and only God know's how, they suddenly stopped talking for a minute or two. They too, were overwhelm how in the world did the judges came up with their decisions.
As everybody knows, Timothy Bradley was the underdog at the start of the fight. The odds heavily favor the Pacman at -450 and plus +350 for Timothy Bradley. This means a $450 bet on Pacquiao will earn $100, while a $100 bet on Bradley will earn $350.

But then again maybe it was so boring already, when a boxer is undefeated for seven straight years. And no known boxer can match him in upcoming fights so they need to manipulate the results to level off the playing field. Do I smell a rematch?
Here's the CompuBox Numbers from abscbn:

 Manny lands 34% (253/751), Bradley lands 19% (159/839).

Manny landed more in 10 of 12 rounds

On a happy Note! Don't despair dear readers Manny Pacquiao still wins in terms of PPV, endorsements, prize money, etc. He is the happiest loser in the block. And we are talking about money in million of dollars! Hurray! Panalo pa rin ang pinoy boxer natin!

Digital Filipino Club Workshop at Azalea Residences in Baguio, City

I have just arrived from my splendid vacation and Digital Filipino Club Workshop at Azalea Residences in Baguio City. You see, I was one of the six (6) lucky bloggers who were chosen by Miss Janette Toral  along with 14 others Digital Filipino Club Members to experience the comfort, luxury and Filipino hospitality that the six-month old all-suite hotel can offer by spending two (2) days and two (2) nights at Azalea Residences complete with free breakfast which the hotel serves from 6:00 a.m. until 10:00 a.m. Isn't that great?
This amazing structure is located at #7 Leonard Wood Loop, Brgy. M. Roxas, 2600 Baguio, Philippines. Azalea Residences is just a short walk away from the Pink Sisters Convent, and within a very short commuting distance from Mines View Park, Good Shepherd, Camp John Hay, Wright Park, Botanical Garden, The Mansion and Burnham Park. Azalea Residences is owned by Fog Horn Inc.
Azalea Residences Baguio is located in a secluded hill street that guarantees both the calm of country living and proximity to the city’s main attractions. It offers the best of old-world charm and modern-day comforts. Why choose a hotel where you can't even catch a good night sleep all night long because of constant whistle and noise within the vicinity, correct?

Azalea Residences was inaugurated and blessed last December 3, 2011.Full Operation started last February 15, 2012.
Even if you are not rich, you are also entitled to a vacation. This has always been my mantra and the exact reason why I created this blog. I was so happy to know that the owners of Azalea Residences shared exactly the same mantra which made the company decide to go into the hospitality business.
I was bowled over by this beautiful view of Azalea Residences when our car entered the hotel premises.

The breath taking view immediately made me fall in love with Azalea Residences. My photographs could never do justice to this wonderful place, my dear readers. So please visit Azalea Residences and speak for yourself about your wonderful experience.

Be it night or day, the beautiful Azalea Residences is simply irresistible.
When I alighted from the car, I counted how many storeys the Azalea Residences have. The six-storey contemporary log cabin-inspired hotel facade is really awesome. A real breather from the hustle and bustle of city life. Azalea Residences immediately embraced me with the warmth, comfort, serenity and tranquility that everyone aspires.
A uniformed bell boy greeted us with a smile and readily assisted us with our bags from the car and brought them to our suite after we checked-in.

Azalea Residences has two(2) service elevators. You could opt to pick up your newspaper at the hotel concierge near the reception or have it delivered right to your suite.
We were assigned at the fourth floor. Our room is a very short walk from the elevator.
I did not have an opportunity to snap a picture of our door. This picture is the door number of the room of our other blogger companions.
Our suite has two-bedrooms. Each room has a flat screen television, a kitchen, a living area with another flat screen television and a sofa bed that the hotel staff transformed into another queen-sized bed. I discovered that their flat screen television has 99 cable channels. Their kitchen has coffee and tea-making facility, plus kitchen appliances like microwave oven and kitchen  essentials like plates and utensils, as well as dining table and chairs.
When the other blogger let me choose which bedroom I like to use, I chose to sleep in the master's bedroom because it has its own toilet and bath with hot and cold water and has a bathtub, this is very helpful for me because I won't need to go out of my room at night just to pee. The master's bedroom has a queen-sized bed with imported bed linens, in-room safe, clothes cabinet, NDD, DDD,DID telephone and a big window.
The owners wanted to give the hotel guests a homey atmosphere that is why they provided each of their 99 suites with complete amenities that can only be found in five-star hotels.

If you are a businessman/ businesswoman, stay connected with Azalea residences business center where you can avail of their fax and computer usage for as low as Php 50.00 per hour.
I learned from the one who toured us around the vicinity that Azalea residences-Baguio has:
  • 46 deluxe suites, with 30 sq. meter floor area, maximum occupants 2 adults+ 2 kids or 3 adults. Cost is Php 6,000.
  • 17 one-bedroom suite, 45 sq. meter good for 4 adults or 2 adults and 2 kids. Cost is Php 8,000.
  • 33 two-bedroom suites, 60 sq.meter good for up to 6 adults or 4 adults and 2 kids. Cost is Php 12,000
  • and 3 three-bedroom suites, 80 sq.meter for up to 8 adults or 6 adults and 2 kid. Cost Php 15,000.
All provided with sofa beds, key cards and with the masters bedrooms equipped with bath tubs. Buffet Breakfast is free. Azalea Residences has an on-going promo which entitles you to a discount of 40% during weekdays and less 30% during weekends on published rates. Please note that in excess of the minimum number of occupants, there is an  additional per person rate which will cost you Php 1,500 with breakfast.
They also operate a bar lounge called 8 degrees. Simply because Baguio City is 8 degrees cooler on any month than any place in the lowlands including Metro Manila.
He also said that if you love walking, you will be happy to know that Azalea residence Baguio is twenty minutes of leisure walk to the city proper and the same time to the other direction leading to the famous Wright park, Camp John Hay, Mansion and five minutes to Botanical garden.
One of the many things I learned from the workshop we had with Miss Janette Toral of DigitalFilipino Club at Azalea Residences is empathy map. One must empathize with their target customers so they can improve and tackle any problems beforehand. Be it financial, security, location or time.
Azalea Residences empathize with their client, that's why they recently tightened their security and hired additional security officers for each floor. They also installed additional CCTV Cameras. They now have 42 CCTV Cameras to cover those areas that used to be labeled as blind spot.

I also saw a security guard on top of the newly added perimeter fence.
I saw the security guard from the balcony of the living room of our suite. I asked him if there's a security detail in that area 24/7. He said he is the night shift guard and his replacement will come at 7 o' clock in the morning. For me, that's an assurance that I can sleep soundly at night or leave my things behind during the day without worrying a bit.
Azalea Residences has a complimentary bottled water, news paper and hair dryer, all of which are on my essentials lists and add to that the fact that they have a 140-car capacity parking and 40,000 gallons capacity of hot water to ensure that their guests won't run out of hot water. I know, I know, these are the essential details that some hotels always overlook. I can say for a fact that Azalea Residences has really empathized with their occupants and had given a solution right away. Maybe they learned that from Digital Filipino Club.
I slept well in their very comfortable bed and I dreamed well in their contemporary bedding. I super love the comfort and warmth of their plush-top mattress pad and fitted bed skirt, high quality 200-thread count white linens with triple sheeting, down-like blanket, decorative top sheet and bed scarf, and high quality pillows.
Your family or whole barkada could choose from among Azalea Residences de luxe, one-bedroom suite, two-bedroom suite or three-bedroom suite rooms that guarantee a good night’s sleep and consistency in cleanliness, comfort, security and value. I just hope that their wi-fi will be up the next time I visit Baguio.
Azalea Residences toured us around Baguio during our last day of stay. We went to Pink Sisters, Good Shepherd Convent, Mines View Park, Choco-late de Batirol in Camp John Hay,  The Mansion and last but not the least, the Baguio Public Market. The bloggers and the Digital Filipino Club Members had a blast buying pasalubong and taking pictures.
I would definitely recommend Azalea Residences for value for money, location, friendliness and cleanliness. The perfect abode for rest and leisure in Baguio City for the whole family and for corporate gatherings! Reservation fee can be made thru credit card payment. Verdict: Azalea Residences gained 5 stars on my list.
I would like to thank Miss Janette Toral of Digital Filipino Club for opening my eyes to business model canvass, empathy map, blue ocean strategy, long tail and a lot more. I really learned a lot from you, Miss Janette Toral, I hope to be included on your future out of town workshops. To Azalea Residences, thank you for the wonderful accommodation and nice treatment.  And last but not the least I would like to extend my thanks to Miss Janette Toral's very efficient executive assistant Heidi and our driver "Nonoy" to and from Baguio, Maraming maraming salamat. God bless us all.
