We were walking inside the newly opened Ayala Centrio Mall in Cagayan De Oro when we chanced upon a very refreshing restaurant.  It is just inside Bigby's restaurant. There's a long line of customers buying gelato. This got me curious, so I went inside and had taste samples of their gelato. I super like their peanut butter gelato! Only Php 55.00 per cup.

 

I learned that Chef Anne, who is among the first batch of CCA graduates 15 years ago and one of the partners of Missy Bon Bon, studied in the South of Italy just to learn gelato making. Gelato is made with milk, sometimes skim-milk as opposed to cream which gives Gelato a much lower milk fat content. Less milk fat allows the flavors of Gelato to really stand out compared to the more blended flavors of Ice Cream. They buy cow's milk from local farmers in Bukidnon to support the local industry in Mindanao.

This is our daily Bread! My brother and I are Gardenia fanatics. We eat different Gardenia breads at home almost everyday. My favorite is the Gardenia Wheat Pandesal, my brother loves the Gardenia Wheat Bread.

 

We were luckily invited last Saturday, October 20, 2012 at Eastwood Mall to a fun-filled “Happy Bread Day” 2012 courtesy of Gardenia Philippines. It was a fun, fun Bread day!

We lined up first and registered for the Happy Bread Day event. 

 

Each of us were given a passport. After reading the mechanics of the Passport to the ultimate Bread experience we proceeded to the booths and had our passport stamped. One (1) booth is equivalent to one (1) stamp.

 

We got to taste test some Gardenia breads together with other product, like for example, a bite size of Bibbo hotdog pinned in a Gardenia Bread.

 The staff at the booth then stamped your passport. 

 

You get a souvenir / token after you visited the Gardenia Exhibit Booth and at least four (4) other booths.

 

I got a free eco bag.

 “Happy Bread Day Show” hosted by popular actress, host and dancer, Ms. Regine Tolentino.

There was also a special cooking demo featuring Chef Rosebud Benitez, former host of the well-loved cooking show “Quickfire,” together with actor and host Drew Arellano.

Various games and tricks was held for the enjoyment of kids and the kids-at-heart!

It's the first time that I've heard about a baked chicken that looks like fried chicken. It is an innovation in Chicken technology unique to Stackers Burger Café. I find the baked chicken soft on the inside but a little bit salty on my first bite. But when I ate rice together with the baked chicken, it blended well and tasted just right.

 

Its baked goodness is 80% less greasy than your ordinary fried chicken. I hope they'll come up with spicy baked chicken real soon. Three pieces Baked Chicken cost Php 205.00

I ate a small piece and all I can say is wow! The chicken is so soft and tender. 

 I also took a teeny weeny bite of their house burger Php 170.00

The burger is unexpectedly soft, juicy, and creamy in my mouth. The semi-sweet bun was a great complement to the salty patty, which was lubricated by tomato, American cheese, onion bits, mayo and the very flavorful Stackers original sauce to make it easier to swallow complete with fresh lettuce.
