NOVEMBER 29, 2010 is a HOLIDAY!!!

Good News to all Pinoys! We have another long weekend ahead!

November 29, 2010 were declared by Malacanang as a holiday in lieu of the November 30, 2010 Bonifacio Day Holiday!

So for those people who've been wanting to have another long weekend, this is a great chance to bond once again with your loved ones!

The practice of shifting holiday observances became an official government policy in 2007 after former President Gloria Arroyo signed Republic Act 9492 into law.

The law seeks to “rationalize” the celebration of national holidays in the country.

Arroyo introduced the policy in 2001 to reduce disruption to business and production schedules, encourage domestic tourism and give employees long weekends.

Under the country’s labor laws, employees who report for work on regular holidays are entitled to a pay of 200 percent of their daily rate.

Regular holidays include Jan. 1 (New Year’s Day), April 9 (Araw ng Kagitingan), May 1 (Labor Day), Maundy Thursday, Good Friday, June 12 (Independence Day), National Heroes’ Day, Eid’l Fitre, Bonifacio Day, Christmas Day and Dec. 30 (Rizal Day).

On special holidays—Ninoy Aquino Day, Nov. 1, election day, Nov. 30 and Black Saturday—employers must pay 30 percent over the regular rate.

Special holidays also include holidays the President may declare from time to time.

Plan your get away now!

Have a happy weekend everyone!

Cough and Colds Home remedy

We get sick when we have a weak immune system.  It usually happens when we lack sleep or when we are overworked or stressed-out. My mama ( when she was still alive) used to give me hot milk with honey and 1 pasteurized eggyolk. It helps all the time, even when the cough is terrible, but you have to do it for about 3 days to a week and you should drink it before you go to bed. VERY IMPORTANT NOTE: If you have hypertension or very high cholesterol, then this is NOT the cure. Just try lemon tea with honey.

Get well soon and take care! God bless you!

The country's longest bridge is the San Juanico Bridge, a steel structure connecting the islands of Samar and Leyte. Built in 1973 under the Marcos administration.
