Super Mario is Rogin-E’s Last Man Running

Ready, Set, Go! This year’s Bayer Rogin-E Last Man Running 2  was held in Bonifacio Global City last March 22, 2012. Hundreds of participants run and tried to win the title.

This year’s Bayer Rogin-E Last Man Running 2 lived up to its reputation as one of the country’s most physically demanding and merciless ultra-marathons.

It lived up to its name as well, claiming all but one of a hundred of the country’s most battle tested distance runners.

This year’s Rogin-E Last Man Running winner is a Bicolano (weeeee kabayan!) and veteran marathon runner Mario Maglinao, aptly known among hardcore distance runners locally as Super Mario.

Super Mario’s victory is all the sweeter because this year’s grand prize from Rogin-E is an all expense paid trip to China, to participate in the world renowned “Great Wall Marathon”. Wooooooooooooot! Go kabayan!

Unlike conventional marathons or even ultra-marathons that are defined by a fixed distance, Rogin-E’s Last Man Running is time bound. Contestants have to run for six hours at a fixed minimum pace. Should they fall too far behind the race pace, they are automatically eliminated.

At the start of the 7th hour, it becomes a footrace for those (the few) still in the running. Thanks to a faster pace (compared to the first Rogin-E Last Man Running in 2011) and an especially hot morning sun, only Super Mario toed the line for the seventh hour of running, making him literally: the Last Man Running.

Unlike the first staging of the Rogin-E’s Last Man Running in 2011, this year’s event featured a separate prize for the Last Woman Running. Pvt. Ellen Tolentino of the Philippine Army took home Php 20,000 as this year’s Last Woman Running.

There were also events for recreational runners, but rather than hold the traditional 5k and 10k events, Rogin-E organizers opted to shake things up with a 5+2k and a 10+4 k event, in keeping with LMR’s challenge: “Can you go another round?”.

According to race organizers Bayer, attendance at this year’s event was much better than in 2011, particularly for the premier Last Man Running Category; which is why we can look forward to an even better Rogin-E Last Man Running 3 in 2013. Wooooooot!

The Mommy Returns Now Showing

I was fortunate enough to be invited by Regal Films through Anton Carranza to The Mommy Returns Red Carpet premiere night last May 8, 2012 at the SM Megamall Cinema 9. Everyone in the cast are in yellow.  Wearing yellow means brighter days for everyone.
Fans and friends of Ruffa Gutierrez were shouting @iloveruffag's inside the cinema while the film #The Mommy Returns!was showing.
The movie fans are very happy to be with the stars. Other fans also shouted #gabsconcepcion's name and some #pokwang's name. When I asked Pokwang why are they in yellow? Pokwang said "Ewan ko kay Mother Lily bakit pinag yellow kami" Ha ha ha!
Richard and Raymond Gutierrez is in full support of their ate Ruffa Gutierrez they watched the premier together with mom Annabelle Rama, brothers Ritchie Paul and Rocky plus Ruffa Gutierrez's lovely daughters Lorin and Venice.
Gabby Concepcion's daughter Gabrielle with Grace Ibuna is also present.

The super cute Jillian Ward with Gerald Pesigan.

When asked what are her expectations for the movie.
" The whole cast is positive". Pokwang quips

PASEO GALLERY

Art Exhibits always fascinates me. I remember when I was a child I used to paint using pastel as my medium. I even used crayons and water colors and even paint.

When we went to Baguio I had a great time at Ben Cab's Museum. We even met his youngest daughter. Visiting art exhibits in museum and gallery broaden my horizon. We also met Sanso during the ribbon cutting of one of his art exhibits. I am looking forward meeting talented artist in the future to come.

Welcome
